Fairphone, a Dutch electronic device manufacturer, has released a phone with software support for up to 10 years. This phone named 'Fairphone Five' was released on Wednesday.
This phone, which came in the market as the only version of Fairphone Fi, has been opened for pre-order in the international market. According to the company, this phone is made with 70 percent recycled materials. Similarly, users can send their old phone for recycling in the box provided by the company with the phone.
After that, the company said that it will provide new phones to the users. This phone will be available in he market with a warranty of up to five years and a software update of up to eight years.
Apart from that, the company has promised to provide software updates for up to 10 years, which will keep the phone safe until the end. The company claims that the phone, which is currently available on Android 13, will get five OS updates.
This means that Fairphone 5 will support updates up to Android 18. Apart from that, the company has mentioned that the user can repair the phone at home if the phone is damaged.
How is Fairphone Five?
According to the company, the Fairphone 5 has a 6.46-inch OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The company will provide Gorilla Glass 5 to protect the display. Fereyphone has provided a punchhole selfie camera in this model. It has a 50 megapixel Samsung JN1 camera.
It has two cameras on the back, one is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX800 and the other is a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. Powered by Qualcomm QCM 6490 chipset, Adreno 643L GPU is provided in this phone. This phone is available in 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage.
The phone has a battery of 4200 mAh capacity. The company says that it supports a 30-watt fast charger. The company claims that the charger will charge the phone 50 percent in 20 minutes. It does not have the facility of a wireless charger.
The company has set the price of this phone at 699 euros (about one lakh rupees).
